Since its establishment in 2015, EF CLIF has thrived in Barcelona, fostering close ties with the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona and other leading hospitals at the national level and across Europe. These collaborations have been pivotal in building the solid scientific foundation of our organization and driving large-scale clinical and translational studies.

Our new headquarters at Torre Barcelona—a landmark building in Barcelona—represents the next step in this journey. Located in Avinguda Diagonal next to Plaça Francesc Macià, Torre Barcelona is a hub of innovation and excellence, home to renowned media outlets such as La Vanguardia, RAC 1, and Mundo Deportivo, as well as foreign governmental offices and professional firms like Osborne Clark—an international law firm with representation on our Board of Trustees.

Torre Barcelona offers a strategic and symbolic location, positioned in one of the most dynamic areas of Barcelona. The building’s modern infrastructure and vibrant professional ecosystem provide the ideal environment to strengthen our local and global partnerships, expanding our impact in clinical research for chronic liver disease.

The new headquarters are situated near Campus Clínic, which includes the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona and the Institut d’Investigacions Biomèdiques August Pi I Sunyer (IDIBAPS), two renowned institutions where our Head of Clinical Operations Javier Fernandez, Head of Translational Operations Joan Clària, and Data Manager Juan Manuel Díaz—carry out their research and clinical activities. This proximity reinforces our ability to integrate cutting-edge research with impactful healthcare initiatives.

This move reflects our ambition to continue growing as an organization. We are confident that our new headquarters will foster collaboration, innovation, and the expansion of our activities, to the benefit of the liver disease research community, patients and society at large.

It’s ideally located, just a 10-minute walk from Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, enabling our clinical and translational researchers to commute easily between both institutions.
