Two new centers join the EASL-CLIF Consortium

EF CLIF announces the addition of two new centers to the EASL-CLIF Consortium after the last annual meeting of the EASL-CLIF Consortium Steering Committee.
BARCELONA— The European Association for the Study of Chronic Liver Failure (EASL-CLIF) Consortium is constituted by more than 300 clinical researchers in 116 university hospitals across 28 countries. Since its foundation in 2009, the EASL-CLIFConsortium has been devoted to the advancement of knowledge on the pathophysiology, diagnostics, and treatment of cirrhosis.

After the annual meeting of the EASL-CLIF Consortium Steering Committee, EF CLIF announced the election of two new centers to join the EASL-CLIF Consortium in supporting targeted research and collaborative initiatives with the aim to advance knowledge of liver disease and improve the quality of life of patients with cirrhosis. Centro Hospitalar e Universitário de Coimbra, Portugal, and Hospital Universitario Marqués de Valdecillas, Spain, both received this designation based on clinical and research excellence. Dr. João Maddaleno and Dr. José Ignacio Fortea were nominated coordinators for each center, respectively.
