Ten years later, the EASL-CLIF Consortium is actively participated by 106 university hospitals in 26 European countries. In the decade since the signing of the agreement, the collaborative effort between members of the EASL-CLIF Consortium has provided the grounds for the description of a new syndrome referred to as acute-on-chronic liver failure and published more than 70 scholarly papers.
Under the theme “Finding and characterization of a new syndrome, acute-on-chronic liver failure, in cirrhosis – A scientific journey described by its protagonists”, EF CLIF organized a celebratory gathering that counted with the participation of leading experts in the field of chronic liver disease from across Europe, North America and Latin America on 11 June 2019 at the EF CLIF Headquarters in Barcelona, Spain.
After the scientific event, delegates visited the recently inaugurated Grifols Museum and a gala dinner took place at the premises of the museum.
