Cellex Foundation endows new EF CLIF Research Fellow

Thanks to the support from Fundació Privada Cellex, EF CLIF will be able to address some important fundamental questions about the pathophysiology of acutely decompensated cirrhosis and acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF).

Through this grant, anesthesiologist-intensivist Dr. Emmanuel Weiss will be able to carry out immune cell single cell transcriptomics and serum metabolomics in samples from the CANONIC and PREDICT study cohorts to identify new prognostic biomarkers in acutely decompensated cirrhosis and acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF).

Dr. Weiss is a member of the Anesthesiology and Critical Care Unit in Hôpital Beaujon, Clichy, France. His research interests include immunity and immunopathogenesis in chronic liver disease.
