EF CLIF hosts liver specialist

Dr. Wenyi Gu, clinical researcher in the group led by Prof. Hai Li at Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, China, will stay three months in the EF CLIF Headquarters.

Dr. Gu’s research focuses on describing the epidemiology of acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF) in China, establishing a diagnostic criteria for patients with hepatitis B-related ACLF, and exploring the clinical course of ACLF with the aim to design new prognostic models of acutely decompensated cirrhosis and ACLF.

During her stay, Dr. Gu will work under the supervision of Prof. Vicente Arroyo to address early detection of ACLF.

Through the Visiting Scholar Program, EF CLIF aims to strengthen connections with the international liver disease research community supporting early career physicians and medical students and fostering a research environment where able to gain expertise in decompensated cirrhosis and ACLF.
