Effects of albumin in a human model of dermal inflammation

The issue

Chronic liver disease is associated with profound immunological changes that leave patients highly susceptible to infection.

The approach

Albumin, the most abundant circulating protein in plasma, has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects and we shall investigate this, using a human blister model of inflammation. Preliminary results have shown promisingly the potential of albumin as anti-inflammatory agent.
